An open kitchen and a large terrace with lemon trees are defining features of L’Osteria at Bauhausplatz 4–6 in northern Schwabing. Inside, you can watch the kitchen at work; in suitable weather, the outdoor area offers another setting for pizza, pasta or a salad.
The setting at Bauhausplatz
This branch opened in May 2019 on the former Domagk-Kaserne site. The opening report described tall windows and terrace areas on three sides of the building. The restaurant is directly beside Schwabing Nord tram stop. Tram 23 links it with Münchner Freiheit and its underground connection.
The restaurant opens at 11am on weekdays and noon at weekends, including service for lunch. The individual branch page provides links to table bookings and online ordering at Bauhausplatz.
Bar and nearby theatre
A row of green stools follows the bar counter inside. High tables stand nearby, with smaller tables beside the windows. When the restaurant opened on 3 May 2019, it was laid out for around 154 guests indoors and another 170 on the terrace.
Spagat Theater is on the same square at Bauhausplatz 3, in HORIZONT-Haus Domagkpark. Its programme includes its own theatre productions, jazz and shows for younger audiences. Having a stage and a restaurant on the square allows a meal before or after a performance without travelling to another part of Munich.
