At Schulstraße 1, Piccola describes the size of the restaurant: L’Osteria serves its usual large pizzas in a small space with a handful of seats and a focus on takeaway. The entrance is between dm and Sarcletti at Rotkreuzplatz.
Pizza and pasta to take away
Pasta comes in the usual large portions, too. The chilled counter has salads and snacks already packed for takeaway. Opening time is 11.30am Monday to Saturday and noon on Sundays; the restaurant closes at 10pm every day.
The first L’Osteria Piccola opened at this address in November 2018. Its original layout centred on ordering and paying at the counter by the entrance, with window seats for waiting and an open kitchen where guests could watch the food being prepared. This smaller format was developed to complement the larger L’Osteria restaurants with a branch focused on takeaway.
Arriving at Rotkreuzplatz
The U1 links Rotkreuzplatz with the main railway station, and the U7 also stops here. Exit F is the station exit for Schulstraße. Above ground, tram 12 runs between Romanplatz and Schwabing Nord. Buses also stop around the square, including route 62 towards Ostbahnhof.
Next to the weekly market
On Thursdays, the neighbouring Rotkreuzplatz hosts the Neuhausen weekly market from 10am to 7pm. Shopping at the market can be combined with picking up a takeaway pizza from the restaurant on Schulstraße.
