L’Osteria at Trauttmansdorffstraße 63 serves large pizzas and pasta in a restaurant defined by its tall windows. The site has a different past: it once housed the Newels garden centre. Following its demolition, the plot became home to L’Osteria and the neighbouring restaurant The ASH.
Windows, a bar and an outdoor terrace
Inside, there are tables along the windows, long upholstered benches and a bar with high stools. Orange-brown seating stands out against the pale walls, while large circular pendant lights hang in the high-ceilinged room. Tall open shelves of bottles form the backdrop to the bar.
Large glass doors open onto the terrace, where tables occupy a paved area with planters and parasols. The restaurant is on the stretch of Trauttmansdorffstraße between Hammer Straße and the Dortmund-Ems-Kanal, close to the football stadium.
Make your own pasta
The restaurant also offers a pasta workshop followed by dinner. Participants make fresh pasta by hand with guidance, then sit down together to eat their own creations. The programme includes a welcome drink and drinks with the meal. Places on the workshop are booked separately.
Lunch and evening visits
Opening hours are 11:30am to 11pm from Monday to Thursday, extending to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. On Sundays the restaurant opens at noon and closes at 11pm. You can reserve a table online or by telephone on 0251 53403232, and order pizza for collection.
