L’Osteria moved into a former Rossmann shop at the corner of Erholungstraße and Herzogstraße. Its address, Erholungstraße 19, is in Elberfeld’s shopping area. In summer, a large terrace with olive trees and oleander adds outdoor seating. Pizza and pasta are served here.
Wood and red globe lights
For the 2017 fit-out, then managing director Thomas Wentz chose handcrafted solid-wood furnishings, tiles with decorative borders and large red globe lights by the windows. The design drew inspiration from Wuppertal’s valley setting. A hundred-seat terrace on Herzogstraße was planned for the opening.
Getting to Elberfeld by suspension railway or car
Ohligsmühle is a suspension railway stop for this part of Elberfeld. It sits between Robert-Daum-Platz and Hauptbahnhof: from the main station, travel one stop towards Vohwinkel. The station has two lifts and two stairway entrances.
For drivers, B+B operates the paid Teijin car park at Mäuerchen 12. It opens around the clock, every day of the week, with a vehicle clearance of two metres. The facility has 165 parking spaces. L’Osteria closes at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 11pm on other days.
Smaller portions and takeaway meals
