Inferno on Beckhausstraße centres its cooking on a stone oven: pizzas made with the house dough bake at around 500 degrees for roughly 90 seconds. Toni gives the business a personal face and is also the subject of a painting by W. Niederjohann. The restaurant also uses the name Inferno bei Toni.
Mint on a pizza
Pizza Zucchini takes an unusual approach to herbs, pairing tomatoes, cheese and courgette with coriander and mint. The aubergine pizza uses the same two herbs. Spicy Pizza Inferno brings together salami, anchovies, mushrooms, chilli peppers, sweet peppers, onions, olives and garlic over tomatoes and cheese.
Familia Con Tutto is intended for three people: a 50-centimetre pizza with five toppings of your choice, accompanied by four fresh salads and pizza bread. Among the pasta dishes, Tortellini à la Toni combines spinach and mushrooms with a cream sauce.
Tables and deliveries
Inferno opens at 3pm from Monday to Wednesday and at noon from Thursday to Sunday, closing at midnight each day. Larger groups can arrange an additional lunchtime opening. Table enquiries can be made by calling 0521 874166, via WhatsApp or through the website.
Delivery extends well beyond the immediate neighbourhood. Schildesche, Mitte and Sieker currently have a €12.90 minimum order and a €1.99 delivery charge. For Dornberg, Brackwede, Quelle, Heepen, Oldentrup and Jöllenbeck, the corresponding amounts are €29.90 and €3.99. Payment on delivery is possible in cash or by EC card.
