LA PIZZERIA Bremen
Pizzeria Piccolino
Pizzeria in Bremen
Piccolino at Alte Hafenstraße 40 in Bremen-Vegesack serves pizza, panini and pasta. Its Prosciutto pizza uses turkey ham, while Chicken Curry combines chicken breast, pineapple, sweetcorn and feta with curry.
Pizza for two
The Pizza Box S contains two 28-centimetre pizzas with your choice of toppings, two dips and two 330-millilitre soft drinks. For a vegetable pasta dish, Vegetale lets you choose the pasta shape and comes with peppers, broccoli, fresh mushrooms and onions. A crêpe with Nutella and vanilla sauce offers a sweet finish.
Art on Alte Hafenstraße
The Overbeck Museum is on the same street, at number 30. It displays work by Fritz and Hermine Overbeck, including landscapes of Worpswede and Bremen-Vegesack. Changing exhibitions complement the artists’ collection.
An afternoon visit can fit around a meal at Piccolino: the museum opens from 11 am to 6 pm Tuesday to Friday and until 5 pm at weekends. It closes on Mondays. Children and young people up to the age of 18 have free admission.
Crossing the Weser to Vegesack
From Lemwerder, the ferry to Vegesack offers a way across the river. Tickets are sold on board, with cash, debit and credit cards accepted. Heavy shipping traffic or unsuitable water levels can affect sailing times; the ferry operator publishes its current operating status.
