An ice cream café becomes a restaurant
Jan Krugmann and Michael Brügmann opened Al Mulino in May 2022 next to their Carls restaurant. They converted an existing ice cream café and kept the ice cream offering. The opening report described 62 indoor seats and 50 outdoor seats. Following Carls and Fabelhaft, this was the duo’s third restaurant on Mühlenstraße.
Diavola and black ribbon pasta
The published ordering menu lists Pizza Diavola with two kinds of salami, including spicy salami, red onion, peppers and chilli on tomato and mozzarella. Quattro Formaggi combines mozzarella, Gorgonzola, Pecorino and Provola.
Tagliolini Neri con Gamberi is black ribbon pasta with tomato sauce, sautéed red prawns, cherry tomatoes, rocket and garlic. Gnocchi alla Sorrentina comes with tomato sauce, basil and mozzarella. The restaurant describes its lasagne as using a house-made ragù and béchamel baked with mozzarella and Grana Padano.
