Pizzeria in Essen
60 seconds to napoli has served Neapolitan pizza and wine at Rüttenscheider Straße 199 in Essen since May 2021. The restaurant occupies almost 500 square metres on the street known locally as the Rü. Its dedicated location page also offers ordering for collection.
Moving into Rüttenscheid
When the restaurant opened, founder Adrian Kuras had the former Roque’s Deli premises redesigned. Writing in July 2021, Essen food journalist Peter Krauskopf described a restrained industrial interior and a street terrace. The kitchen then contained two gas ovens made by Neapolitan oven builder Stefano Ferrara, operated by pizza makers trained in Naples. Product developer Dominik Grzeschik created the pizza recipes for Kuras.
Spiced toppings and pasta in a pizza bowl
Don Diablo combines San Marzano tomato sauce and fior di latte with chorizo Iberico, chilli honey and smoked paprika. Salsiccia Style has provolone, fior di latte, Mangalitza salsiccia, cherry tomatoes and basil. The vegan Margherita pairs a plant-based mozzarella alternative with tomato sauce, basil and olive oil.
Trufflepasta in a Pizzabowl brings together bucatini, white truffle cream, black truffle, 24-month-aged Parmigiano Reggiano, basil and black pepper. Desserts include homemade alcohol-free tiramisu and a chocolate cake with a molten centre. Pizza Nutella is finished with fresh strawberries.
From lunch into the evening
In September 2026, the restaurant lists a noon opening every day. It closes at 11pm from Sunday to Thursday and at midnight on Friday and Saturday.
