Pizza in the old post office: L’Osteria opened its second Aachen restaurant at Kapuzinergraben 19 on 8 August 2025. It occupies the listed Kapuziner Karree complex, where historic buildings, restaurants and a cinema surround a shared courtyard.
Long tables in a former post office
The opening report puts the premises at around 1,500 square metres and records 400 terrace seats. Inside, long tables accommodate larger groups. The former post office buildings date from the early 1890s and were restored during the redevelopment of the complex.
Part of the historic courtyard received a roof made from a lightweight steel structure with membrane panels. The architects describe it as a space for events and exhibitions. According to Aachen Tourist Service, the cinema complex now has nine screens.
A large pizza before a film
The thin-baked pizzas measure 45 centimetres across and can be shared. Pasta, salads and desserts are also available. A meal before or after a film therefore keeps you within the same building complex. Beer, wine and cocktails are also available with your meal.
Arriving and reserving a table
Opening time is 11:30am from Monday to Saturday and noon on Sundays. The restaurant closes at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 11pm on other days. Table enquiries can be made through the online reservation system or by telephone on +49 241 46358330. Its OpenTable listing gives public parking and payment by American Express, EC card, Mastercard and Visa.
