Dario has been part of Kopernikusplatz in Nuremberg’s Südstadt since 1972. Michele Bevacqua originally opened the pizzeria at number 13; in 2008 it moved a few doors along to number 10. The restaurant also has a beer garden, which opened in 2012.
Three pizza sizes and baked pasta
Pizzas come in three diameters: 24, 28 and 32 centimetres. Here, Marinara is topped with clams, garlic and parsley. Verdura Grigliate has grilled aubergine and courgette, while Salmone combines salmon and spinach. Vesuvio is a covered pizza with salami, mushrooms, green peppers and bell pepper.
The homemade Lasagne bolognese is oven-baked. Tris di Pasta brings together three different types of pasta; Tris Spezial is additionally baked in the oven. Homemade tiramisu, panna cotta and semifreddo appear among the desserts on the menu. The house wine is Cirò.
A short walk from Aufseßplatz
The restaurant puts the distance from Aufseßplatz underground station at roughly 50 metres. Dario also serves changing weekly dishes, and its espresso comes from Guglielmo in Calabria. You can order pizza and pasta for collection by telephone.
For a vegan dish, the restaurant specifically asks for advance notice. Dogs are also welcome by prior arrangement. Wheelchair access is limited and requires a ramp to be requested; according to the restaurant, the toilets are not wheelchair-accessible.
