LA PIZZERIA Duisburg
Pizzeria Trattoria Da Roberto
Pizzeria in Duisburg
Da Roberto has been part of Dellplatz since around the turn of the millennium. This Italian family-run pizzeria and trattoria occupies the ground floor of the corner building at number 13, with large windows facing the square and a curved entrance frontage.
A corner building with a past
The building dates from 1875 and took its present form during a renovation in 2007. It was extended upwards and given a newly articulated rendered façade. Architect Oliver Keuper also developed the visual identity and an interior design concept for the trattoria already based here.
Inside, a long upholstered bench and a deep reddish-brown wall hung with small framed pictures form the backdrop to rows of tables. Slender mosaic-covered columns line the windows, while the glazing around the corner keeps the square in view.
Fior di latte and pasta
Every pizza uses fior di latte mozzarella, including the Pizza Dellplatz. Pasta choices include Ravioli alla Salvia and Tagliatelle al Salmone. Aubergine carpaccio is among the starters, while desserts include mascarpone cream with fruit, zabaglione and tiramisu.
Dinner and a film on Dellplatz
The municipal filmforum cinema is on the same square, at Dellplatz 16. For public transport, the nearby Steinsche Gasse stop serves the U79 and tram 903; take the exit towards Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz.
Da Roberto opens Monday to Friday from noon to 2:30pm and 5pm to 11pm, and on Saturdays from 4pm. Sunday is its closing day.
