Trinacria at Forststraße 18 combines a pizzeria with a trattoria. Salvatore Magnera runs the restaurant in Oberhausen-Schmachtendorf, where it has been established since 2010. One recurring reason to visit is the fish platter offered on the first Friday of each month. It is charged at the day’s price.
Inside and beneath the canopy
Inside are dark rectangular wooden tables and chairs with orange seat cushions. Large glazed doors and windows look out of the dining room. Outdoor tables sit beneath a canopy and extend to the side, with a wooden screen enclosing part of the seating area.
Parma ham on pizza, salsiccia with pasta
Pizza Trinacria carries Parma ham, rocket and Parmesan. Rustika combines onions, bacon and peppers, while Pizza Napoli uses anchovies and olives. Each comes in a small or large version. The folded calzone is filled with ham, salami, tuna and mushrooms.
For many pasta dishes, you can choose spaghetti or macaroni. Trinacria pairs salsiccia with rocket, dried tomatoes, mushrooms and Parmesan. Gnocchi alla Salvia comes with butter, sage and Parmesan. The Salmone pasta uses smoked salmon in a cream sauce. Tris di Pasta combines three pasta shapes with three different sauces.
Evenings and Sunday afternoons
