Diner has occupied Reichsstraße 4 in Saarbrücken since 2003. Opposite Europa-Galerie, towards the pedestrian zone, it serves Italian food indoors and on its terrace, with a takeaway counter for food to go. It offers changing weekday lunch specials and stays open continuously throughout the day.
Eight house-made pasta shapes
Diner makes its own pasta, offering spaghetti, penne, fusilli, rigatoni, tortellini, tagliatelle, campanelle and casarecce. You can choose the pasta shape for the individual dishes. Pasta Panna uses turkey ham and cream, while Bolognese combines minced beef with tomato sauce. Pasta al Forno comes baked with cream sauce and a layer of cheese. A version with Bolognese sauce is also baked with cheese.
Wood-fired pizza and Flammkuchen
The pizzas measure around 30 centimetres, with tomato sauce and mozzarella, and are baked in a wood-fired oven. Pizza Diner combines prawns, tuna and onions. Sophia Loren is topped with beef salami, mushrooms, olives and a fried egg.
Flammkuchen Grumbeere pairs crème fraîche with potatoes, garlic, rosemary and cheese. The Camembert version has crème fraîche, Camembert and lingonberries.

For table reservations, call Diner on 0681 95812002. The restaurant recommends booking ahead for groups of more than two people visiting between 1pm and 7pm. Service begins at 10am Monday to Saturday; the restaurant is closed on Sundays.
