Waterfront views and large pizzas meet at L’Osteria Humboldthafen. The restaurant stands directly beside the listed harbour basin, with boats passing on the water. Its Hilda-Geiringer-Weg address is within walking distance of Berlin Hauptbahnhof.
Italian food beside the harbour
The restaurant occupies part of the development completed in 2019 along Friedrich-List-Ufer. Hamburg practice Hadi Teherani Architects designed the buildings, which combine offices and homes with shops and restaurants. The government quarter is directly across the water. High red banquettes divide the dining areas inside. Smaller round and square tables sit between round columns and beside the tall windows, with dark wood prominent throughout the room.
Pizzas measure 45 centimetres across. You can order two different toppings on one pizza and share it. Bruschetta is among the starters served at this branch.
Pasta in full and smaller portions
Orecchiette di Manzo al Limone combines beef fillet strips and vegetables with mascarpone and lemon sauce. Vegan Maccheroncini Colorati comes with tomato sauce, grilled vegetables, cherry tomatoes and basil.
Every pasta dish can be prepared as a smaller portion for children. If you need to head back to the station, all dishes are also available to take away.
Something small and sweet
Piccolo Dolce offers a small serving of tiramisù, panna cotta or Crema di Fragola. The chocolate soufflé comes with mango and passion fruit sorbet. Crema di Fragola al Mascarpone pairs fresh strawberries with mascarpone cream.
