L’Osteria at Koppenstraße 8 is a recent addition to the restaurants around Ostbahnhof. Its dining room combines an open kitchen with a broad bar and several seating areas. Pizza and pasta are the main focus.
Bar seats and long banquettes
A long upholstered banquette divides the room into groups of tables, with further seating beside the windows. The bar has tall upholstered stools. A counter with a glass screen separates the open kitchen from the dining room.
The restaurant occupies UP!, a converted department store built in 1979. The building previously housed Centrum, Hertie and then Galeria Kaufhof. Its conversion was completed in 2021, retaining the concrete structure behind a new glass façade with deep recesses.
Meals shared with friends
Earlybird advertised a Galentine’s dinner and party here for 13 February 2026. A separate area was planned for the event, with dishes to be served for the table to share. The menu announced for that evening included burrata, bruschetta, pizza and pasta.
Painted cypresses and citrus motifs on the walls complement the warm reds and browns of the furnishings. Framed black-and-white photographs show narrow streets and shopfronts.
Koppenstraße opening times
