L’Osteria on Dresden’s Hauptstraße is in the pedestrian zone near the Goldener Reiter monument. Open since April 2025, it occupies premises that previously housed a Greek restaurant. The entrance is beside the Goldene Uhr clock, at the passage leading into the courtyard.
An open kitchen and a terrace
The conversion included new shopfront windows and ventilation. Inside, natural stone, wood and brass accompany brown and red tones, with an open kitchen forming part of the dining space. At opening, the restaurant had around 140 indoor seats and 87 terrace seats, surrounded outside by olive trees and oleander.
A place at the long table
The pizzas measure 45 centimetres across. A long communal table stands beside smaller round ones. Upholstered armchairs complement the wooden chairs. A patterned bench runs along the wall, with large mirrors and pictures of trees alternating above it.
Arriving by the Goldener Reiter
Trams 4 and 9 stop at Neustädter Markt, giving you access to the southern end of Hauptstraße by the Goldener Reiter monument. If you are driving, a fully automated car park at Metzer Straße 2 sits directly beside Hauptstraße.
A meal off the boulevard
The restaurant opens at 11.30 am Monday to Saturday and at noon on Sundays. Closing time is midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and 11 pm on the other days. You can reserve a table through the local restaurant page; dishes are also available to take away.
