At L’Osteria on Duisburg’s Innenhafen, dinner comes with a view of the harbour basin. The terrace is a substantial part of this Schifferstraße restaurant, which opened in May 2013 after eleven weeks of conversion work. At opening, its roughly 300-square-metre interior seated 180, with another 140 places outdoors.
Pizza and a view into the kitchen
Pizzas can be shared between two people, with different toppings on each half. A long communal table stands directly in front of the open kitchen, with a view of the food being prepared.
Dining in the H²-Office
The restaurant is part of the H²-Office complex at Schifferstraße 190–196. Architects Bothe Richter Teherani drew on the shape of a catamaran for the design. Seen from above, the two buildings form an H, echoing the complex’s waterside setting.
Parking on Schifferstraße
For drivers coming to eat, the public Parkhaus Innenhafen is also on Schifferstraße, at number 220 in the Pier Eins building. It includes designated disabled parking spaces.
Families, dogs and opening hours
Dogs are welcome in the restaurant, with water available at the Dog Bar.
High chairs, a changing facility and small pasta portions are available for children. Every dish can also be taken away. Opening hours are 11.30am to 11pm Monday to Thursday, until midnight on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 11pm on Sunday. Call 0203 39345540 for table enquiries.
