L’Osteria Potsdam stands beside Alte Fahrt, close to the Stadtschloss and Freundschaftsinsel. Alter Markt is also within easy reach of Otto-Braun-Platz 1. The restaurant forms part of the Humboldt-Quartier and has served pizza and pasta here since 2015.

L’Osteria was one of the first commercial tenants in HQ Humboldt, which opened in August 2015 after 22 months of construction. Its neighbours are the newly built Palazzo Pompei and Palazzo Chiericati, with façades reconstructed after their historic predecessors. The restaurant has a terrace.
Between the kitchen and the water
Pizzas measure around 45 centimetres across and can have different toppings on each half. The large tables on the terrace look directly onto the water of Alte Fahrt. Indoors, long wooden tables are arranged around the kitchen area in the centre of the room.
For arrival by tram, Alter Markt/Landtag is on the west side of the parliament building. Otto-Braun-Platz is on its southeast side, at the start of the footpath over Lange Brücke, still on the city-centre bank.
Visiting with children
Families have high chairs, baby-changing facilities and a drawing table, as well as smaller portions for children. Dogs are catered for with a drinking station. Saturday service finishes at midnight; on other days the restaurant closes at 11pm. All dishes are also available to take away.
