L’Osteria in the Gürzenich-Quartier is close to Heumarkt and Deutzer Brücke. The long dining room at Martinstraße 1 has large windows facing the street, with banquettes and tables between the columns creating distinct seating areas. Outside, the terrace is planted with olive trees and oleander.
Large pizzas and seats at the bar
The pizzas measure 45 centimetres across and can be ordered with a different topping on each half. When it opened in December 2016, the restaurant had space for 169 guests across 220 square metres.
Long tables offer room to sit together as a group, with smaller tables beside the windows and tall stools at the bar. Homemade tiramisu is also on the dessert menu.
A restaurant in the new quarter
The Gürzenich-Quartier had been completed just a few months before the restaurant opened. Today, highchairs are available for families. Children can use a drawing table while the adults eat, and a water station caters for visiting dogs.
Takeaway after exploring the old town

Arriving by tram
Heumarkt station is opposite the restaurant. From Dom/Hbf, tram line 5 gets you there in two stops, via Rathaus.
