Beside Potsdam’s main station, PiPaSa serves pizza, pasta and salad from an unusual address: the listed water tower at Friedrich-Engels-Straße 99. This second Potsdam branch opened on 1 May 2024. The roughly 23-metre tower stands amid the station’s bus bays and railway tracks.
Food at the foot of the tower
When the branch opened, customers ordered in the lower part of the tower and could watch their food being prepared. An outdoor seating area was created at the foot of the building. The opening returned the previously long-unused tower to use as a place to eat.
Mussels on pizza and broccoli with pasta
The stone-oven pizzas have a tomato and mozzarella base. Con Cozze adds mussels, capers and garlic, while Scampi combines prawns with broccoli and garlic. Mediterran features artichokes, dried tomatoes, red onion, olives, peppers and feta.
Pasta dishes can be ordered with spaghetti or penne. Pasta PiPaSa combines chicken, broccoli and garlic in a spicy cream sauce. Frutti di Mare uses seafood, tomato and garlic without a cream sauce. Homemade tiramisu without alcohol appears on the dessert menu.
Choosing the station branch
The restaurant’s own ordering website lists this branch as PiPaSa Wasserturm, separately from its Friedrich-Ebert-Straße address in the city centre. Collection and delivery are available for the tower branch. Its current listing gives midnight as closing time, later than the city-centre shop.
