LA PIZZERIA Hamburg
L’Osteria Hamburg Marzipanfabrik
Pizzeria in Hamburg
L’Osteria at Friesenweg 16 occupies part of the former marzipan factory site in Othmarschen. The surviving 20-metre chimney belonged to the L. C. Oetker marzipan and jam factory built in 1896. The pizzeria opened in February 2025 among the site’s historic brick buildings and newer commercial properties. The site was also used to produce nougat.
A conservatory and two floors
According to the opening report, the conservatory seats 60 guests, with a further 120 seats across two floors. The open kitchen allows diners to watch the pizza makers at work. The branch opened on 13 February 2025. A week later, the brand held a separate event here to celebrate its two-hundredth restaurant.
Evening opening and the pasta factory
In September 2026, the restaurant opens from 11.30am until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Sunday opening runs from noon to 10.30pm.
The pasta comes from L’Osteria’s own production facility, which has operated since 2013. After production, it is blast-frozen and delivered to the restaurants through an unbroken cold chain. In the branch kitchen, individual portions are cooked and combined with sauce and the other ingredients.
Factory rooms and a shared terrace
Inside, stone walls are paired with leather sofas and rust-red lamps. L’Osteria shares its terrace with neighbouring Drilling. Work to convert the premises into the 900-square-metre restaurant began in October 2024, four months before opening.
